Platform Property Care, part of Platform Housing Group, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Area/ Operations Manager to join our talented Estates Service team in this brand-new and key role and lead our Caretaking and Cleaning teams for a national housing association.

Why? In this newly created role, and in conjunction with the Head of Service, you will have the opportunity to lead on business growth and the development of the service.
Reporting to the Head of Service, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of caretaking and cleaning services to Platform Housing Group.
Leading a large diverse team of in-house colleagues and contractors, supported by a team of Delivery Managers, you will be people orientated and results focused, ensuring the service delivery is in line with customer requirements, contractual specifications, health and safety obligations and financial constraints whilst supporting the wider Platform Property Care team objectives.
You don’t need to have worked in Housing or managed this type of service before, but we are looking for someone who has demonstrable and proven experience in:
• Managing and leading a diverse, multi-site team and working day to day with and managing performance of external contractors
• Monitoring, measuring, and managing service performance, addressing under-performance, and delivering works on time and to budget
• Balancing a heavy workload, prioritising as necessary and being able to manage conflicting priorities and demands when required
Some of the skills we need:
• Evidence of listening to customers, understanding their needs, and tailoring a service to achieve customer satisfaction
• Good influencing skills with both internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships
• Good organisational skills
• Solutions focused approach to problems
• Good IT skills
• Management and Health & Safety qualifications would be desirable but not essential. It would be a benefit to have knowledge of H&S and Building Regulations
Please note that this role does require the ability to respond to occasional emergencies outside of work hours.
The role requires a full UK Driving Licence and covers all the whole of our group. While this role is home based, you should have the ability to travel as required to Group offices and other locations across the group. Our Group offices are located at Birmingham Business Park Solihull and Central Park, Worcester. At times you will be required to attend meetings and training at our other offices and locations including Worcester, Birmingham, Matlock, and Skegness.
