Summary

This role will be part of a team responsible for development and delivery of Fife College’s new Geospatial Information Systems Foundational Training Programme.

The College has secured external funding to design a brand new educational pathway into the geospatial sector. We are looking for someone with geospatial skills and expertise, someone able to build connections between the College and diverse industries making use of geospatial data and developing geospatial applications and able inform the development of the training program.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise in the development of new skills programmes.

• Establish relationships with relevant industry partners and trade bodies to ensure alignment of skills training with industry needs.

• Collaborate with industry and project partners to define required learning outcomes and competencies that align with the relevant sector's needs, enabling successful programme participants to access post qualification opportunities.

• Collaborate with Digital Infrastructure Colleagues to identify software and hardware needs to support skills programme development.

• Collaborate with Estates Colleagues to identify infrastructure needs to support skills programme development.

• Collaborate with the Digital Learning team, in the development of comprehensive course materials, including lesson plans, assessment guidance, and delivery resources.

• Support People Development colleagues to identify training requirements for academic staff to support transition of new skills areas into the college curriculum.

• Effectively manage time and project resources to deliver agreed skills programme.

• Contribute to delivery of the training programme as required

• Contribute to project reporting and evaluation as needed.


Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified to HND/Degree (SCQF 8/9) or SVQ Level 4/5 in the relevant vocational area
• Comprehensive industrial experience gained in the target sector. Detailed understanding of the skills and competencies required to gain employment in the target sector
• Experience of industry engagement and building collaborative business relationships, for example in a business to client or business development role.

Essential Skills
• Organisation skills to ensure effective and efficient use of resources.
• Excellent written, listening and speaking skills.
• Experience of budget management achieving financial targets and effective use of resources
• Knowledge and Understanding of the college sector and skill training available.

Additional Requirements:
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• Must have a full driver's license and the ability to travel between Fife College campuses and occasionally across the central belt of Scotland. You will spend some time each week at our Kirkcaldy and Levenmouth campuses.
