Museum Curator (Part-time, permanent, 18.5 hours per week)
Grade 8 - £36,648 to £40,221 pro rata, per annum (pay award pending)
Bassetlaw District Council’s Vision is to become the greenest, most sustainable district to live and work by 2040. We have been successful in securing a huge amount of inward investment into the area, and it is crucial that we can recruit and develop talented staff to make the most of this investment to deliver the Vision. Our busy, friendly Museum is central to achieving this and enabling our staff to thrive at work.
Bassetlaw Museum is a local authority museum based in Retford, North Nottinghamshire. We are seeking an energetic museum professional to join and lead a small, dedicated team who are dedicated to serving our local communities. You will have experience of delivering the range of requirements expected of an Accredited Museum, proven track record of securing grant funding, maintaining relationships with a variety of partners and stakeholders including the Friends of Bassetlaw Museum. Experience of managing a listed building would be an advantage.
Bassetlaw is an attractive place to live and work. It includes the most northerly district of Nottinghamshire; bordering Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, and Lincolnshire with two main population centres - Retford and Worksop, each surrounded by a network of picturesque villages. All of our three offices in Worksop, Retford and Carlton Forest are easily accessible from the M1 and A1.
We are committed to recruiting a great and talented workforce, creating opportunities for undertaking high profile and varied work and training as well as continuing with the highly flexible working arrangements, which includes continuing to use the benefits of home working. For full details on our generous employee benefits package, please visit Employee Benefits | Bassetlaw District Council.
To apply please visit our careers page www.bassetlaw.gov.uk/jobs-and-careers/, to upload your CV and covering letter. Please ensure that you highlight your relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and achievements.
Please note that the application process will require you to upload your CV. If you don't have one to upload, you can download a CV template we've created to help you get started.
