Summary
The steelfixer is responsible for assembling and installing the steel framework that reinforces concrete structures, ensuring stability and strength in construction projects. This role involves reading blueprints, cutting and bending rebar, and securing it into place before concrete is poured.
Key Responsibilities
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret construction blueprints and specifications to determine the type, amount, and configuration of rebar required.
Material Preparation: Cut, bend, and shape steel bars and mesh to the necessary dimensions using hand tools, power tools, and bending machines.
Rebar Installation: Position and secure rebar in concrete forms using wire and other materials to ensure stability and proper spacing.
Quality Assurance: Inspect installed rebar to ensure it meets design specifications and standards.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment.
Coordination: Work closely with other construction professionals, including engineers, carpenters, and concrete workers, to ensure efficient project completion.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues with the rebar installation process, making necessary adjustments.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Skills:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and specifications.
Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and machinery for cutting and bending rebar.
Strong understanding of construction safety practices and regulations.
Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.

Previous experience as a steelfixer
Good communication skills
Proficient in using power tools and hand tools
