Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator opportunity in the HSE department working for a food manufacturer who supply’s innovative food products to UK retail.

As Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator for a busy food manufacturing site you’ll report into the Head of Health, Safety and Environment.

Due to recent success and business growth, the newly created role of HSE Coordinator offers of the opportunity to join a food manufacturer who supplies a great range of innovative products to top UK food retailers.

This role will suit a Health, Safety and Environment professional with a background in HSE gained from either the Food or FMCG sectors.

As HSE Coordinator you’ll work with operations, projects, and other functions to promote good Health, Safety and Environment practices, you’ll provide leadership, support, and development to staff, to increase knowledge, share best practice and ensure that professional standards are met.

Day to day, you’ll conduct site inspections that will include, environmental, PPE, line specific, fire protection, first aid, contractor control etc and complete risk assessments with shift managers in COSHH, task based, aspects and impacts areas. You’ll support shift trainers by developing and delivering HSE training courses to EHS element of site inductions, manual handling, DSEAR Awareness, chemical awareness, SWP development etc whilst promoting a strong Health, Safety and Environment culture through effective communications, promotional campaigns, and safety coaching.

To be considered for this role you’ll need,

Proven HSE experience in UK Food or FMCG manufacturing
NEBOSH General Certificate or IEMA Certificate desirable or working towards
Great communication skills – able to communicate and challenge clearly and confidently at all levels
PC literate and comfortable working with spreadsheets.
Good coordination skills, able to manage own time and gain commitment from others
The role is based on site with a four-day shift pattern working from 7am – 5pm.
