Liaise, the SEND Information Advice and Support Service in Lincolnshire are looking for a caseworker to join our team to work with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families. This is a 12 month fixed term position to cover for maternity.

The role

Liaise caseworkers provide free, confidential and impartial information, advice and support to children, young people and their families on matters relating to education, health and social care. This includes working on the Liaise advice line and holding a caseload. Other aspects of the role include delivering workshops and training to local education, health and social care professionals, children, young people and parents, promoting the service and supporting with ongoing service development to ensure the service meets IASS National minimum standards.

About you

The successful candidate must have an understanding and knowledge of current SEND working practice and educational legislation. They should also have outstanding interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication, listening skills, empathy and skills to build rapport. The ability to be flexible in approach when dealing with difficult situations, demonstrate impartiality and be able to negotiate and mediate are also important skills required for this role.

The post holder will be required to work across Lincolnshire and you will be expected to complete IPSEA legal training.
