The Ceredigion tourism service is looking to appoint an organised and customer focused individual to join the busy Tourist Information and Ceredigion Museum Shop team as Tourist Information Assistant in Charge to lead and coordinate a small, busy and enthusiastic team of Tourist Information and Museum Shop Assistants.
The Tourist Information team provide high quality guidance and information to visitors and local residents about the town, the wider Ceredigion area and beyond, and provide retail assistance for the Ceredigion Museum Shop which is located on the same premises in Aberystwyth town centre. You may be the first point of contact for new visitors to the area and will act as an ambassador for the county. On a day to day basis you will answer enquiries from residents of Ceredigion as well as visitors from all over the UK and overseas. This can be face to face, on the phone or by letter/ email and online chat facility. You will also be responsible for managing the supply of information materials, handling money for the Ceredigion Museum Shop and coordinating the monthly staffing rota and collating visitor/ enquiry statistics.
The Tourist Information Centre and Museum Shop are open to the public from 10:00 – 17:00, Monday to Saturday all year round. Working hours are 9.30 to 5.15. The role includes Saturday working on a regular rota basis. The successful candidate will be entitled to Saturday pay at Time and a quarter. This role also requires Bank Holiday working on a rota. The successful candidate may receive a choice of double time or single time and a day off in lieu.
