Our client is looking to appoint a German speaking Business Development Manager on a full time permanent basis. This is a varied role and duties include:

Negotiate new business and secure sales growth in line with agreed KPIs through a blended approach of ‘cold-calling’; networking; key account management and marketing campaigns.
Develop business development strategy and marketing plans to support company goals and agreed KPIs.
Identify and collate new target / prospect lists ensuring that sales / BD activities are appropriately prioritised, tailored and managed in line with potential value to the business; likelihood of success and customer type.
Prospect for new clients and new client opportunities through developing industry networks and raising the profile through CPD sessions with construction industry contacts.
Lead the preparation and attendance at pitches, bids, [CPD] presentations and other BD / Sales related meetings and events.
Provide sales reporting information to the MD indicating costs v revenue generation and growth projections where possible.
Remain current on market and competitor trends and services, in order to inform potential changes, improvements or opportunities in terms of the development and marketing of existing products or new initiatives.
Undertake all aspects of marketing, advertising and promotion planning, including identifying specific target groups and creating the key messages.
Oversee (and assess) the delivery of direct marketing campaigns in line with identified timescales, budgets & response rates.

Account Management
Adopt a collaborative approach to business development activities, through ensuring a smooth transition at the point of sale to the designated designer.
Act as customer relationship / account manager [only] for selected key customers on an ongoing basis, ensuring customer orders are delivered on time and to specification and further business opportunities explored proactively.
Brief and liaise with designers and / or other team members in order to ensure customer briefs are accurately interpreted and customer expectations are met.
Preparation and distribution of associated commercial documentation to ensure proposals and client briefs are accurate, commercially viable and aligned with client expectations.
Development of the CRM, specifically in relation to sales / prospecting reporting information (as a means of guiding future sales / BD planning).

Person Specification
Proven ability of managing a range of customer accounts.
Track record in securing and developing sales in a variety of contexts.
Experience of business to business sales / product distribution sales.
Construction industry knowledge / networks.
Working knowledge of marketing campaign planning and product messaging.
IT literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.
Ability to motivate / negotiate (as part of the sales / customer facing process).
Good standard of written English and German.
German speaker.
Confident in phone / oral communications (for example, cold call prospecting).
Excellent presentation skills.
Demonstrable planning and organisational skills.
Ability to work autonomously.
Confident in dealing with customer complaints.
