SEN Teaching Assistant


An award-winning Special Educational Needs (SEN) School located in Torton, Kidderminster, renowned for its innovative teaching methods and supportive environment, is currently seeking passionate Level 2 Learning Support Assistants to join their dedicated team and make a positive impact on students with diverse educational needs.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Start Date: September or earlier
Location: Torton, Kidderminster
Salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30
Hours: 40 per week, term-time only
Contract: Permanent
- Student Support: Assist SEN students under the guidance of classroom teachers and SEN coordinators.
- IEP Implementation: Contribute to the development and execution of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Small Group Sessions: Facilitate and engage in small group and one-to-one educational sessions.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and document student progress to aid in assessments.
- Safe Environment: Maintain a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with educational and therapeutic staff to enhance student learning and well-being.
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in an SEN setting is advantageous.
- SEN Knowledge: Understanding of various SEN conditions.
- Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a creative approach to educational support.
- Commitment: Dedication to professional development and alignment with school ethos.
- Clearance: Enhanced DBS clearance is mandatory.
