From September 2024, we seek to appoint an innovative and motivated Sixth Form Academic Mentor to support our growing Sixth Form. The successful candidate will be required to work with students and staff to improve academic outcomes and to make a positive difference to Academy life.

We are looking for a passionate individual who can motivate and support students with their studies. A willingness to support the Academy ethos and support of extra-curricular activities within the Sixth Form is essential. The successful applicant will engage fully with the Level 3 qualification landscape, post-18 careers, and the broader work of the Sixth Form team to create well-rounded and successful adults.

Attleborough Academy is a popular, 11 to 18 Academy which is continually developing to meet the demands of providing the highest quality education for all students. Attleborough as a town is poised for major expansion and the Academy is the chosen secondary to have facilities developed as part of the Masterplan. Extensive building and development work is taking place in areas including our sports facilities, science facilities and Sixth Form. The Sixth Form is moving into newly refurbished facilities in September 2024, and this is an exciting time to join this committed and progressive team.

The Academy joined the Sapientia Education Trust (SET) in June 2020 which was an exciting and important development for the school. The SET are committed to bringing like-minded schools together to work in partnership to develop a world class education. This merger promises to bring multiple benefits in terms of teaching and learning and new opportunities for students and staff. Just before Easter 2023, we were pleased to announce that we achieved the World Class School Quality Mark which is a tribute to all in our community.

We are an inclusive, friendly and effective learning community with high aspirations and a reputation for innovation. Excellent relationships between students and staff are at the heart of the ethos of the Academy and are often commented on by those who visit the school. Indeed, in our most recent Ofsted Inspection (2021) we were termed a ‘special place to be’. The Academy is a hardworking and caring community of people with high standards and high expectations. Our core values are Commitment, Acknowledgement, Respect and Excellence (CARE). CARE therefore has a genuine meaning within our school as we want the Academy to be a place where these values are seen in all aspects of our work together.

Interviews are expected to take place during the week commencing Monday 8 July 2024 and shortlisted applicants will be contacted by email with details of the arrangements. The post will be offered subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance.

Closing date for receipt of applications: Monday 1 July 2024
