Premises Officer
Full Time
£24,442 plus £3,467 trade skill allowance
Are you someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in ensuring the college always looks its best, delivering a high quality service with a friendly manner?

We need an exceptional person as our Premises Officer to join our team who will support ensuring the site and premises are safe, secure and well organised so that our students have the very best learning environment.

As part of Estates Team, you will undertake a broad range of responsibilities, including planned and reactive maintenance work (such as decorating, plumbing, emergency repairs), securing the building and carrying out security checks and ensuring the premises, furniture, fittings and grounds are maintained to a high standard. You will also complete general manual handling tasks, including setting up rooms for meetings or events, removing waste from the building and ensuring building entrances and steps are clear and tidy.

This role will support the colleges venue hire and lettings programme and will be responsible for meeting customers, showing them to the relevant booking venue and ensuring a high level of customer service.

The successful candidate will have previous experience or knowledge of basic building repair and maintenance, combined with a flexible approach, excellent personal and management skills, and very strong team working skills. You will need to be trustworthy, flexible, take pride in your work and be able to work with all members of the college community.

We are ideally looking for someone experienced in building, trades or premises works with recognised experience, training or qualifications. However, if you have some experience and a willingness to learn there is the opportunity to be supported in completing an apprenticeship related to the job – more information available here.

The post holder is expected to work a flexible shift pattern between the hours of 6.00 a.m. and 10.00 p.m. and to undertake weekend working in rota with other team members.

The salary for this role £24,442 with the opportunity to earn an additional £3,467 if you have a trade skill. You will also be entitled to a shift working allowance of up to £187 per month which takes the annual salary to potentially £30,000
