SEND – Engaging with Children, Young People, and Families
Are you driven by a passion for making a difference and empowering individuals to live their best lives?
As a Pathway for Adulthood SEND Lead worker in our NEET (Not in Employment, Education, or Training) team, you will play a crucial role in our mission to improve and positively impact the lives of children and young people with SEND.
In this impactful role, you will be instrumental in guiding young people with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) who are NEET. By working closely with SEND Lead Workers, you will uncover each young person’s unique aspirations and create a personalised Preparation for Adulthood Plan. These plans will not only be integrated into their SEN Support Plan and EHCP but will also connect them to resources and opportunities within their community, fostering a path toward independence.
You will coordinate a new, streamlined assessment process, collaborating with the young person, their family and other professionals to ensure their goals are met. Your efforts will be pivotal in enabling young people to live, work, and actively participate in their communities, turning their potential into reality.
Our ideal candidate is someone with a deep understanding of children’s and adult services legislation, holding a qualification in early years, social care, health, or education (Level 4 minimum or willing to work towards this). Experience in supporting children and families with SEND, along with the ability to build trust and empower decision-making, is essential. You will need excellent communication skills, basic IT proficiency, and a full UK driving license.
