Description:
A PA is required to help assist in the supervision and care of a very active seven-year-old girl with autism. She is non-verbal but can understand some spoken language especially if used in conjunction with visual prompts. Some experience with autistic children is desirable but not completely essential provided PA has some experience of managing young children and an open mind. Care will principally take place at the residence of child’s father in Ashford Surrey and child’s father will be present for almost all of the time to assist and interact with the child. The reason that the PA is required is that the father has some mobility difficulties and cannot look after the child for many hours on end due to becoming fatigued. It should be noted that there are no additional care requirements whatsoever in relation to the father and so 100% of the care requirements are for the child. These may include personal care, dressing, some minor food preparation tasks and ensuring that the child is playing safely and appropriately. There are no pets at the residence where care will be taking place. There may be occasions when it is necessary to take the child into the community e.g., to a local playground or on age-appropriate day trips which will be discussed and planned ahead with her father who will also be in attendance.
