Our
headteacher of the last 7 years is retiring at Christmas and we are looking for
a new leader for our controlled Church of England Primary School to maintain
and continuously improve all aspects of the outcomes for our pupils. We are
looking for a visionary, outgoing leader who will guide our school through the
next stage of our journey and are open to applications for the role as
Headteacher or as Executive Headteacher, linking with a current Headteacher’s
school.
We
are a small, flourishing village school established in 1849 in Long Clawson in
the Vale of Belvoir. There is expansion potential for the school as new housing
developments are completed. The staff are committed to working with our
children and their families to enable them to love life and learning. We are fortunate
to have two outdoor play areas and our own dedicated hall which was purchased
by the John Garton’s Charity (the school foundation trust) for the sole use of
the school.
We
are proud of the creative and challenging curriculum at our school, as well as
participation in sporting events across the county and full inclusion in school
performances for all ages. We have strong links with our parish church and demonstrate
our Christian ethos and values by leading inclusive Collective worship in the
school and at St Remigius’s Church, welcoming those of all faiths and none.

whole school team work very hard to make our school a vibrant, safe and caring
place in which every person matters.

are seeking to appoint an inspirational leader who will:
• Provide highly effective and motivational leadership to staff and
pupils maintaining warm, affirming and positive relationships.
• Have experience of developing and delivering a broad and balanced
curriculum, leading to high-quality teaching.
• Motivate and develop all staff to create a positive, optimistic
and professional school culture.
• Value diversity and the unique
contribution every individual makes to the learning community by providing an environment
where pupils and staff feel confident, safe and happy.
• Develop excellent relationships with parents, governors and the
wider community, and market the school to prospective parents.
• Uphold and develop the Christian vision and ethos of the school.
• Work collaboratively with other schools, the wider community and
providers to enrich the learning experience of pupils.
• Have a full understanding of safeguarding policy, procedures and
compliance requirements.
• Experience of financial / budget
management.
• Excel at self management, including problem solving,
multi-tasking, time management and organisational skills.
• Have high emotional intelligence and resilience.
• Embody the values we encourage across our school – kindness,
patience, honesty, loyalty, thankfulness and respect.
