Location – Lancaster, Hybrid

Following the award of an Economic and Social Research Council large grant, Lancaster is seeking to appoint a Project Coordinator to work in the new Centre for Corpus Linguistic Approaches to Safeguarding Studies (CLASS). You will be responsible for assisting the management of the £2,500,000 project which looks to answer contemporary questions in safeguarding and child protection research.

The role involves supporting the project lead at Lancaster, Professor Lauren Devine, with general administrative duties, for example scheduling and managing of diaries, arranging, attending and minuting in person and online meetings, arranging travel and accommodation, liaising with the procurement team and other relevant departments in Lancaster. The role requires close working with the project lead and wider university staff to ensure timely processing of expenses and invoices, and that regular project management and advisory board meetings are organised, attended and minuted. Coordinating the production and circulation of coordinating the production and circulation of papers/event materials, organising venues and refreshments for external engagement events. The role also involves liaising with the project’s external partners, Co-Investigators in two other universities and supporting a research administrator based at Aston university.

You will have evidence of providing administrative support in a university or research environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to develop effective relationships with external colleagues including members of the public.

The position is available from 1st August 2024 initially for one year with the possibility of extension.

The appointment is at Grade 5, £25,138-£28,759. Appointments are normally made at the bottom of the scale.
