Connect Appointments have a new exciting opportunity for a reliable and experienced individual to become a Hygiene Manager with our Cowdenbeath based food production client.

Working as a Hygiene Operative:

  • Full-time permanent opportunity
  • Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm
  • A competitive annual salary dependent on experience

Please Note - There will be the requirement to go on night shift, for training, etc. with early start times of 3/4am to carry out hygiene audits.

Your role as a Hygiene Manager is to ensure the environment is safe and clean to prevent a negative impact on quality standards. As such your duties will include:

  • Ensuring completion of hygiene tasks, identifying non-compliance where applicable

  • Supporting the hygiene team in ensuring cleaning is completed and to adequate standards
  • Responsible for creation, maintenance, implementation, and review of procedures to ensure compliance with company policies
  • Manage the training, development, and review for those carrying out cleaning activities
  • Actively involved in investigation of customer complaints and site non-conformance to identify root cause, corrective actions and prevent recurrence of the issues
  • Actively involved in audits by customers, third parties and regulatory authorities
  • Carry out chemical concentration checks and hygiene audits
  • Maintenance, review, update, and daily sign off cleaning paperwork, ensuring cleaning is carried out as per required frequencies
  • Involvement in authorisation of plant hygiene and CIP process changes to ensure that product safety and quality objectives are continually met
  • Identify improvement opportunities in relation to hygiene and implement change to drive improvement

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a hygiene role, ideally in a food production environment. Other key skills and traits include:

  • Proven experience as a line manager
  • An active problem solver capable of resolving any operational issues
  • Preferably hold a COSHH and Food Hygiene certification
  • Preferably have knowledge of CIP systems
