Band 6 or Band 7 Paediatric Metabolic Dietitian;
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic dietitian to join our Paediatric metabolic dietetic service at Manchester childrens hospital
RMCH is a tertiary Children’s Hospital that provides regional and supra-regional services to include most dietetic clinical paediatric specialties.
We are based in a 371 bed, purpose built hospital in the centre of Manchester, and are continuing to expand and develop our paediatric dietetic service to reflect state of the art facilities in the largest single-site children’s hospital in the UK.
Dietetics is a well-recognized and respected service and we form part of most multi-disciplinary clinical teams.
The RMCH dietetic service provides childrens services across all acute Manchester hospitals and is strategically supported by a professional paediatric dietetic lead together with;
• 5 x B8a clinical lead / paediatric dietetic team leads
• 1 x ACP – ketogenic therapy
• 24 x B7 clinical specialist paediatric dietitians
• 8 x B6 rotational paediatric dietitians
• 5 x band 5 paediatric dietitians
• 4 x paediatric dietetic assistant
• Special Feeds Unit with 8 assistants
• Administrative support
The metabolic dietetic team are based with the internationally renowned metabolic MDT in the Willink Unit . We provide Tertiary and Quaternary care for over 600 patients from across the north of England with many different and complex rare metabolic conditions.
As a Bnad 7 trainee you will be paid as a band 6 until you demonstrate competencies within metabolic dietetics ; you will currently be an experienced paediatric dietitian with experience if working in an acute hospital and will have relevant post registration training at Masters level or equivalent e.g module 2 /3
Band 7 post : recent clinical knowledge and experience in metabolic paediatric dietetics is essential, as is a comprehensive dietetic knowledge base together with evidence of post registration CPD and training in metabolic disorders (e.g. Paediatric Masters Module 4 or equivalent ).
Excellent leadership and communication skills together with an understanding and strong commitment to multi-disciplinary team working are essential.
