GASPED have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our dynamic team as a Support Worker to help adults and young people 16yrs+ affected by mental health, domestic abuse, and addiction.

Plus, you'll be part of a supportive team within a rapidly growing local charity dedicated to delivering practical and person-centred emotional support to individuals across the Wakefield District.

A Mental Health Support Worker role at GASPED is varied but exciting role. A typical working day in this role might require you to:

Conduct 1-2-1 practical and emotional support sessions with clients, helping them navigate their mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and set personal goals.

OR

Work with volunteers to lead our peer support coffee groups, providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals to share their experiences and support each other.

OR

Facilitate wellbeing workshops focused on topics such as stress management, mindfulness, or healthy relationships, engaging participants in interactive activities and discussions.

OR

Mentoring clients in education, training and employment. This could include providing them with CV writing, job search and interview skills; or helping them with housing difficulties, budgeting, benefits, finding volunteering or other social activities/hobbies.

The role is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week with standard hours being Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. This role requires a level of flexibility as you will be required to commit to some evening and weekend work.
