A vacancy for a permanent part time Associate Lecturer has arisen on our highly regarded Professional Doctorate in Child, Community & Educational Psychology [M4] course. This is an exciting 2.5 day a week role [18.75 hours] that will support the next generation of Educational Psychologists in their professional training. We are seeking an experienced HCPC-registered Educational Psychologist (EP) to join our outstanding team of relational, reflective and collaborative tutors.

The Associate Lecturer role available has a particular emphasis on teaching, supervision , assessment and student recruitment and selection. We are keen to hear from practitioners with an established research and publication record, skills in supporting research at doctoral level and/or an interest in developing their scope of practice in this area. A capacity to offer supervision, teach and assess trainees in a relational and reflective manner is essential.

The post-holder will contribute to course teaching and work closely with the rest of the team in curriculum development when required. This will include ensuring inclusion, equity, disadvantage and discrimination are appropriately addressed and may involve taking a lead in the planning of identified course activities.

Previous teaching/supervisory experience in higher education or in the public sector would be an asset; and contribution to and passion for initial Educational Psychology training is key to the role. A commitment to anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive applied psychological practice is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate their dedication to social justice for all children, young people, their families and the practitioners who work with them in everything they do. We are especially eager for interest from candidates from historically excluded and/or currently under-represented backgrounds to better meet the needs of the service users and students that we serve.

The Trust has a national brief for training in the mental health professions, social care, education and forensic services across the age range. In 2020 the Trust was

the first NHS body successful in obtaining registration with the Office for Students (OfS). Its academic awards are validated by university partners, mainly the University of Essex. The Trust develops and delivers training initiatives that meet the needs of a modern health and social care sector and is responsive to policy and initiatives from government and other relevant agencies.
