Somercotes Academy is seeking to recruit an Isolation Unit Manager to assist the Assistant Principal to support pupils in their pastoral development. The role provides an opportunity to engage positively with pupils, parents and staff to embed our academy values and promote the highest standards of behaviour and achievement. The smooth running of the internal isolation rooms is key and this role has direct responsibility for the behaviour and wellbeing of pupils that have not met our behaviour expectations.
Inclusivity and opportunity are fundamental to the ethos of Somercotes Academy. At Somercotes we believe that every child really does matter. We are proud of all of our students and our staff are committed to the holistic development of every young person in our care.
Students at Somercotes Academy are provided with exceptionally high standards of teaching along with the best possible learning environments and educational resources that students, parents and the local community can be proud of.
We are aspirational about our students’ academic achievements. Indeed, in the last published school league tables, the Academy was recognised as being in the top ten most improved secondary schools in England for increase in Progress 8.
Somercotes alumni leave the Academy as well-rounded individuals who engage in a diverse range of careers and future pathways, including graduate professions.
The Academy is committed to the values of community. Students at Somercotes Academy are expected to meet high standards of behaviour, tolerance and respect. We encourage kindness and compassion, viewing these values as intrinsic to the development of our students as good citizens within both local and global communities.
Somercotes Academy is a successful growing school and we are excited about our future direction.
Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in its academies. In line with our safer recruitment practices and statutory guidance on Keeping Children Safe in Education, all applicants must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Additional pre-employment checks will also be carried out including online/social media check, satisfactory references and any other appropriate checks necessary in order to assess the suitability to work with children.
