Role Purpose:

Working with the Head of MI Development to deliver high quality data management. You will be responsible for providing meaningful management information data into the business to support improved Financial and operational performance, to manage and maintain technical solutions and BAU support.

To act as mentor to more junior team members, utilising their advanced system knowledge bring on the wider team and to adhere to FSA, TCF, GDPR Regulations, and the completion of Mandatory E-Learning.

Responsibilities
• To support the Head of MI Development with building, maintaining and improving the MISL data warehouse.
• To model and transform data from new data sources in order to support the ever-growing company brand. To use data modelling techniques to normalise and integrate multiple data sources to drive business value and benefit.
• To Proactively take ideas, concepts and relationships forwards to support department data initiatives which help to inform the overall strategic direction of the business
• To support the department with ongoing migration to SAS Viya and look to utilise new technology to drive efficient ETL processes.
• To constantly review the way data is processed in the business, looking for ways to improve running times and efficiency
• To be an advocate of data governance activities, policies and procedures
• To help drive continuous improvements in data quality standards
• To assist with the resolution of known data issues, ensuring root causes are identified and sustainable solutions are developed and implemented.
• To assist with data risk prioritisation and reporting
• To help ensure that day to day data processing completes, to agreed timelines with no failures.

Essential Skills
• Previous experience in a DW or BI role
• Essential Experience of coding in SAS and SAS Macro’s
• Essential Experience of SAS DI Studio & Enterprise Guide
• Experience with data modelling techniques
• Experience with ETL concepts and data warehousing techniques
• Experience of data quality management concepts
• Advanced Excel
• Proactive problem-solving skills
• Detailed data analysis and presentation skills
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical detail into simple language that non-technical people can understand
• Able to operate in a fast-changing market and environment, often tackling issues without clear precedents
• Organised, methodical, able to deliver to agreed deadlines
• Confident in own judgement and decision-making, sees challenges as development opportunities not problems

• Experience of SAS Viya
• Experience of SAS Visual Analytics
• Experience of SQL Server
• Experience with Apache Airflow
• Experience using MS Dev Ops for workflow and CI/CD pipelines.
