Join KMPT’s exciting, new Maternal Mental Health Service!Sponsorship AvailableWe are seeking a Psychological Therapist to join our team, made up of Psychotherapists/Psychological Practitioners, Specialist Mental Health Midwives/Bereavement Midwives and Peer Support Practitioners. Thrive is a 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, community service. The locality for this role is North Kent (Dartford, Gravesham & Swanley), however the post holder must be willing (and have the ability) to drive across the county (Kent and Medway-wide) as and when required.
What is High Cost Area Allowance?
The High-Cost Area (HCA) allowance, also referred to as London Weighting is a payment made to employees who work in London and the surrounding areas.
As this post is based in Dartford, Gravesham or Swanley, the successful applicant will receive an additional payment each month.
• 5% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,192 per year and a maximum payment of £2,011 per year (the agreed annual amount will be divided into 12 equal amounts and paid monthly)
This is a fantastic developmental opportunity in which the post holder will be supported to train in and gain highly specialist psychological treatment skills, specifically Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT).
You will be responsible for conducting specialist and complex assessments, to develop psychological formulations that inform evidence-based clinical interventions. You will provide specialist, focused psychological interventions as recommended by NICE guidelines and current literature; usually taking the form of trauma-focused interventions.
You will contribute to developing a robust psychology service, aiming to offer high-quality care in line with current guidance and evidence and adhering to appropriate clinical governance.
To be successful in this role, the post holder will need to proactively and successfully work with partner agencies, women and birthing people, families, partners and community staff, to ensure we work as one, to provide the highest level of care.
Maternal Mental Health Service
Thrive – Psychological Support for Birth Trauma and Perinatal Loss offers evidence-based assessment and psychological therapy to women and birthing people with moderate-severe or complex mental health difficulties, specifically psychological trauma, directly resulting from or associated with the maternity experience.
We, as a service in collaboration with Acute Hospital Trusts, embody a trauma-informed care ethos and culture in line with current national perinatal guidance. We aim to support those who are suffering difficulties such as (but not limited to):
• PTSD following birth trauma
• PTSD following perinatal loss (including early miscarriage, recurrent miscarriage, unsuccessful IVF, stillbirth, neonatal death or termination of pregnancy for any reason, parent-infant separation at birth)
• Tokophobia (severe fear of pregnancy and childbirth)
Applicants must hold meet at least one of the following qualifications:Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology as accredited by the BPS, Formal training in CBT such as a Postgraduate Diploma/Masters in CBT. Formal postgraduate level training in psychological theory and practice, including specifically models of psychopathology, models of psychological therapy and lifespan development.
Candidates must also be registered with one of the following professional bodies:HCPC: Health and Care Professions Council/AFT: Association of Family Therapists and Systemic Practitioners/BACP: British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (including. EMDR and/or TF - CBT)/BABCP: British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies/ EMDR Association UK (with professional body/accreditation)Candidates must also have direct and applied experience of trauma-focused therapeutic work in-line with current NICE guidelines.
You will be responsible for conducting specialist and complex assessments, to develop psychological formulations that inform evidence-based clinical interventions.
