Role Title Field of Dreams Manager
Main purpose of the role
To lead and manage the Field of Dreams Nursery on a day-to-day basis.
Ensure high quality provision, providing children with a wide variety of learning experiences and a safe, secure and caring environment.
Be responsible for ensuring a cohesive approach to the EYFS curriculum. Proactively manage the impact of funding changes.
Ensure the Field of Dreams budget remains financially sustainable and independent. Set the tone and demonstrate professional standards at all times. Be an active part of the St. Sebastian’s Senior Leadership Team. Support the role of extended school facilities on site.
Core responsibilities and tasks
Key duties:
Lead and supervise all staff ensuring continuous professional development.
Liaise with Business Manager regarding HR issues, acting upon concerns immediately.
Lead and supervise all aspects of safeguarding ensuring the Nursery and its staff are compliant at all times.
Lead all Inspections ensuring aspirational targets.
Lead on all SENCO matters with the support of school SENCO’s.
Liaise with all internal and external agencies on all matters relating to the Nursery.
Direct staff to lead activities and work with individuals or small groups of children, under direction
Monitor and develop behaviour management.
Direct staff to set up and clear away displays and activities, including ensuring that the materials and equipment are safe and clean
Ensure staff attend to children’s personal needs.
Lead on all aspects of planning and the development of learning activities
Lead on all aspects of observation and assessment procedures
Ensure children’s records are updated at all times.
Lead on health and safety and cleanliness throughout the nursery.
Lead on all emergency and security procedures.
Lead on all Child Protection issues ensuring all guidelines are adhered to.
Establish a culture where all staff develop positive professional relationships with parents/carers and that children are provided with an environment where they value and respect different cultures, religion, diversity, language and disability and ensure that toys and games reflect this within the setting.
Be responsible for child/staff ratios are adhered to at all times.
Be responsible for the update of policies and procedures, dealing with Ofsted and Outside agencies, systematically monitoring and implementing high quality provision according to the EYFS, and ensuring the smooth running of the nursery every day.
Ensure website and social media are reflective of the Nursery celebrating nurture and curriculum.
Individuals in this role may also:
Have key worker responsibilities for particular children
Supervise children at meal times
Work with external agencies
Contribute to the development of individual development plans (such as Individual educational plans) for children with special educational needs
Supervise and line manager Junior staff.
Knowledge, skills and experience
NNEB, level 4 or equivalent degree - desireable
Excellent attendance and organisational skills are essential.
Expert on EYFS.
Ability to train staff on the EYFS, policies and legislation and safeguarding.
