About the Role:
Bracknell Forest Council is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Department Accountant to join our Resources team during a planned peak period. This role is crucial in supporting various financial functions and providing expert advice to ensure smooth financial operations within the council, particularly focusing on educational accountancy.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce monthly budget monitoring reports, working closely with Budget Managers and Finance Team members to support forecasts and brief Senior Officers.
Reconcile relevant grants, ensuring compliance with grant conditions.
Provide financial support and advice for the council’s Business Change Programme, including the SEN Safety Valve Programme.
Assist schools with the day-to-day management of their finances, offering best practice advice and supporting their financial accounts.
Develop and maintain the Funding Formula for schools, ensuring it meets statutory requirements and council policies.
