First Federation Trust is an expanding multi-academy Trust of primary schools located across Devon and Dorset. The Trust celebrates diversity and distinctiveness of each primary school and is committed to driving high standards through close collaborative working and the sharing of collective experience. Membury Primary Academy is a very small primary school based in rural East Devon with one class. We have a very small class size where relationships and individual teaching are paramount.
We are looking for a highly committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with the drive and enthusiasm to support our pupils and class teachers. Directed by the Head of School, the role will involve helping our pupils to build confidence and overcome barriers to learning. Candidates must be able to work on their own initiative as well as work under the supervision of the class teacher.
The successful candidate will:
Provide direct practical support for learners to engage in all aspects of their programme
Support teachers with the monitoring and delivery of interventions
Work in a way that creates a positive, fun and engaging environment
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with children, parents, other professionals and colleagues
Be reliable and conscientious
Be open to new ideas
Have a good understanding of safeguarding and welfare procedures
Have an understanding and commitment to positive behaviour management.
