We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate sales and M&E professional to join our Senior Management Team at Leonardo Royal Hotel London Tower Bridge and Leonardo Royal Hotel London City as Cluster Director of Sales. The ideal candidate will also have good commercial understanding and experience with corporate accommodation.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a pro-active self-starter with the ability to drive business, and grow market share from existing accounts and delivery of new business.

As part of the role, you will be enrolled on to our Sales Training Academy – Sales Guru to master the art of sales! You will have the flexibility to work from home once a week.


Director of Sales key responsibilities:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the local hotel markets based on intelligence and knowledge of competitor activity and rates, resulting in increased revenue generation through focused sales activities for Local and National Accounts.
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits.
  • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. monthly sales results and annual forecasts).
  • Produce accurate and timely, weekly, monthly and annual reporting that meets the needs of Regional Sales Manager and General Manager.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process for the Corporate and M&E segments, using appropriate business tools.
  • Complete and execute hotel sales plan, review and update in line with strategy and hotel business needs.
  • Overall accountability for hotels RFP’s both local and national ensuring all stakeholders are consulted during negotiations.
  • Managing a portfolio of local accounts and territory accounts whilst supporting the delivery of National Accounts into the hotels
  • Using data and market research conduct telesales and campaigns to identify opportunities for hotels.
  • Overall accountability for hotel Group and M&E business performance.
  • Maintain an up to date Pipeline of target accounts, directly, through the Sales Managers and via the hotel.
  • Ensure the use of the CRM system, is in line with the minimum standard of use for self and team as required.

  • Have experience in leading and managing individuals/teams and driving sales performance in a fast moving, challenging and multi-channel environment
  • Have experience in selling large MICE driven venues
  • Have excellent communications and relationship building skills
  • Be ambitious and driven, with a good understanding of the mid-scale hotel sector
  • Be results driven, self-motivated, flexible and resilient.
  • Have a strong background in commercial negotiations to secure additional revenue generation
  • Have the ability to present the Leonardo Hotel brand in a compelling manner to influence new business acquisition
  • Commercially aware, numerate and the ability to identify opportunities
