About the Specification Technologist job
The purpose of your role will be to obtain, create and maintain finished product specifications and labels, ensuring they comply with customer and legal requirements.
Key tasks
Create and maintain finished product specifications for all products, labels, and packing sheets and approve product artwork, packaging and labelling in accordance with customer requirements and current legislation.
Act as a point of contact for customer queries regarding finished product specifications and liaise with NPD to ensure artwork and specification requirements for NPD projects are completed within the agreed timescales.
Respond to customer technical requests to meet the agreed timescales.
Complete site traceability and mass balance exercises to agreed schedule.
Assist with site GMP and internal audits.
Proactively support all initiatives to improve product safety and quality across the company.
About You
The successful candidate should possess either a degree in food science/ food technology and a have a minimum 1-year specification writing experience with UK food industry as well as a background of using customer specification systems or portal.
You will be a confident communicator and team player.
Ability to meet targets within set timescales.
Organised, consistent and can work to deadlines, with a keen eye for detail.
Accurate data entry and analysis, and knowledge of MS Office.
