We are looking for a part time Level 3 practitioner to join our friendly, small, term time only setting. We work with pre-schoolers, aged 2 and a half - 4 years old.
We require someone for 3 full days per week (must include Mondays and Tuesdays and 1 other weekday).
You will need a passion for working with children.
Purpose of the Job:-
To work as a key person and part of the pre-school team under the direction of the manager and deputy manager to provide safe, high quality education and care for young children. To maintain a stimulating and enjoyable environment.
Main duties
Key person - - responsible for a small group of children.
• Helping to settle new children into the group
• Build positive relationship with parents.
• Carry out observations
• Contribute and maintain learning journey for each key child.
• Maintain good parental partnership.
• Prepare play plans for each child to ensure they progress through the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, ensuring each child reaches their full potential.
Pre-school Practitioner
• Will support the pre-school in providing a stimulating and varied programme of play activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children in order to achieve this the practitioner will:-
• Support all staff members in their duties and preparations
• Help prepare and fully set out the room before children arrive and tidy up after the children leave.
• Listen to, encourage and enable the safe keeping of the children.
• Manage behaviour according to the settings policy and procedure.
• Attend staff meetings, planning meetings, pre-session and after session discussions
• Help prepare and plan a curriculum, and take part in all activities.
• Help to prepare and serve snacks and drinks
• Take part in special events, outings, visits and any other events organised by the pre-school/ committee.
• Attend relevant meetings and courses as directed by the manager
• Advise manager/deputy manager of any matters requiring attention.
• Keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff, which is learnt as part of the job.
• Be aware of Safeguarding and keep up to date with Safeguarding training.
• Work as part of a multi-agency team when required.
