We have an exciting opportunity to join our professional team to contribute to supporting pupils with medical needs in school.

We are seeking to appoint a Pupil Welfare and Medical Assistant to join our supportive school team. We are looking for someone who is warm, approachable and enthusiastic. The right candidate will be efficient, professional and committed to providing ongoing support to pupil(s) with specific medical or welfare needs including but not limited to monitoring and administering insulin to diabetic children, insertion of catheter and administration of other medicines to children.



The successful applicant will:

Enjoy working with children in a large school environment and understand that the children are central to all decision making and upon which your role has an impact
Have a passion for ensuring the wellbeing of children and staff including applying first aid and medical needs
Be first aid trained to deliver emergency first aid at work, paediatric first aid, or possess a higher level medical qualification; experience of applying these skills in a previous role will be of further benefit
Be committed to safeguarding and protecting children
Be proficient in the use of IT, including Word and Excel
Have excellent written English
Have an organised manner
Be able to manage, prioritise and meet deadlines
Be able to work effectively as a team member, under direction and also independently
Be confident, respectful and credible and exude high standards
Be supportive to the school team and all stakeholders, committed to working collaboratively
Be intuitive, caring and maintain high regard for confidentiality at all times
Be a calm, effective communicator, confident in liaising with all colleagues, children, parents and outside agencies to further our caring ethos, even when under pressure
Be keen to use initiative and thrive on a andlsquo;can doandrsquo;, positive approach

The position we are filling is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a satisfactory Enhanced DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required as part of pre-employment checks. An online search will be completed for all shortlisted candidates.
