A hugely successful and steadily growing retail organisation in the Lightwater area is looking a Payroll Manager to take full ownership of their in-house payroll function. Joining a large, established finance team of 20 people, you will ensure the timely and efficient completion of the 4-weekly payrollfor over 700 employees (salaried and hourly rate). What will the Payroll Manager role involve?

• Maintaining the payroll system so that wage rates and hours are up to date.
• Managing the holiday allocation within the payroll system.
• Processing new starters, inputting hours worked into Sage Payroll, overtime, and expense claims.
• Calculation of statutory payments and attachment of earnings.
• Completing all RTI submissions to HMRC.
• Utilising the Bacs system for payment of net salaries and PAYE/NIC.
• Maintaining pension records and uploading monthly files and payments to the NEST and Scottish
• Widows and People Pensions.
• Preparing and sending out of pay slips, P45's, P60's
• Dealing with payroll queries and running reports as required by auditors and line management

Suitable Candidate for the Payroll Manager vacancy:

• Significant experience in running a medium-large in-house payroll.
• Deep knowledge of current UK payroll legislation including tax codes, N.I. and HMRC deadlines.
• Knowledge of accounting and payroll systems (ideally Sage Payroll) plus confident Excel user (pivots & lookups).
• CIPP or other payroll certification desirable.
