Title:Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist Palliative Care (Virtual Ward Service) Salary:Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, aligned with AFC Band 7£43,742- £50,056 pro rata per annum Hours/Contract:Full Time, Part Time considered Contract Type:Fixed Term - ends 31st May 2025 Based:Bradford Hospice Closing date:8th July 2024 Interview date: W.C. 15th July 2024 We have a vacancy for an additional fixed term Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist (Band 7) to join the Marie Curie REACT project based in Bradford. Our team consists of nurses, physiotherapists and doctors working in partnership with other services to prevent unnecessary admission to hospital for patients with unmet or rapidly escalating palliative care needs. Patients will be identified in the Emergency Department of the Bradford Royal Infirmary or by colleagues working in the community as having unmet symptom control/end of life care needs that can be safely and effectively managed at home with additional short-term urgent support and intervention from our REACT community team. This is a truly career enhancing opportunity to both improve the patient and family experience, alongside reducing inequalities in access to specialist palliative care across Bradford. You will be accountable for providing specialist palliative care nursing services to people living with a terminal illness, those important to them and health professionals. This will be demonstrated through working as an autonomous expert practitioner in palliative care, practising as a Non-Medical Prescriber, managing a caseload of patients with complex needs and providing advice, expertise and support as part of the multidisciplinary team. As a member of the leadership team you will facilitate a sensitive, person centred and compassionate environment for patients, those important to them, staff and volunteers leading by example and professionalism. Alongside cultivating a person-centred environment, you will also be responsible for demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge of the principles and practice of palliative care, providing specialist education which is evidence based to patients, those important to them and staff and undertaking quality improvement initiatives.
