Summary


CAMHS Peer Support Worker (PSW)

Full time / Monday - Friday (9-5/flexible)

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work within our Getting Help team at North Lincolnshire CAHMS.

As a Peer Support Worker, one of the main functions of this role will be to support young people in the transition to adult services as well as independence, the role will also include supporting young people in using strategies that have been gained from interventions, and putting these into practice in their communities.

This role enables the Peer Support Worker to draw up on their own lives experiences which they can utilise to inspire and support self-belief that our service users can contribute to their own care, goal planning and ultimately achieve positive outcomes.

The post holder will report directly to the Pathway Lead and receive clinical, managerial and safeguarding supervision in-line with RDaSH Trust Policy.

• To support out young people in transitioning from CAMHS to adult services as well as independence
• Supporting young people in using their strategies from interventions into practice
• Helping individuals identify their own achievable goals and set self-focussed objectives
• Assist young people in creating an Emotional Well-being & Recovery Plan that can be utilised by the service user
• Accompany young people to appointments/meetings when required, performing a range of practical tasks aligned to their care plan
• Supporting the delivery of group work programmes across the service alongside qualified practitioners
• Model personal responsibility, self-awareness, self-belief, self-advocacy and hopefulness via the telling of their own lived experience which can be utilised as a means of inspiring and instilling confidence in young people
• Develop coping, self-help and self-management techniques in-partnership with the young people
• Advocate for the rights of young people that use of CAMHS services
