We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic teacher to join the KS3 site of a Deaf School. This opportunity will also see the sucsessful candidates teaching some ASDAN to a small group of year 10 students.

The School:

Dedicated to promoting high achievement and learning for life. Students are immersed in a rich language community to thrive socially and in their learning. The schools approach to teaching Deaf children is a combination of both British Sign Language (BSL) - the language of the Deaf community, and English - the language of the hearing community. BSL allows all deaf children and adults to communicate easily with each other and forms part of their Deaf identity.

The role:

As a supply teacher for Term 1, you will be working within the Primary site, with Y7 & Y8 students, teaching a variety of subjects, including History, English and Science. The role will also see you running small groups of Yer 10 students, to help with their Life Skills.

There is potential for this role to become permanent.

The Candidate:
- Must be able to work full-time.
- Experience of working with Deaf or hard of hearing children is desirable, but not essential.
- A knowledge of British Sign Language is advantageous, but not essential as the school can provide interpreters.
- Ability to teach a variety of subjects, including DT, Maths and Geography.
- Open minded, enthusiastic and determinded.
