Summary

Job Title: EPC Project Manager – Transmission Network
Location: Motherwell, Glasgow, UK

NRL are looking for an EPC Project Manager to be a key part of our client's UK EPC delivery group, bringing experience in managing the execution of projects for Transmission Network Owners. The initial geographical coverage will be Scotland delivering on multiple substation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical:

- Lead all aspects of safety and CDM compliance for EPC projects.
- Manage and coordinate project execution for EPC Transmission projects.
- Serve as the primary client contact for assigned projects.
- Oversee profit and loss, ensure timely project completion, and maintain professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Support preparation of EPC proposals and presentations.
- Provide overall project management from concept to completion, including value engineering and constructability reviews.
- Drive project schedules, manage scope, and control costs in collaboration with project controls and commercial teams.
- Manage project resourcing and advise on subcontractor and supply chain selection.
- Support internal risk review and approval processes.
- Develop project execution plans and other contract documents.
- Ensure client satisfaction with deliverables and services.
- Provide regular project progress reports covering cost, schedule, procurement, safety, environmental, risks, and other relevant issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Functional:

- Report to Senior Project Manager(s) or Contract/Framework Managers in the UK.
- Lead and oversee project execution within your portfolio in the UK.
- Help build a world-class project management capability and assist in recruiting project staff.
- Develop bid stage technical solutions with partners and engineering team.
- Interact professionally with clients and colleagues to achieve project objectives.
- Manage multiple projects and conflicting deadlines with flexibility.
- Work autonomously and as part of a project team.
- Develop industry relationships to enhance project delivery and future opportunities.
- Engage in personal professional development and participate in professional bodies and industry groups.
- Mentor team members.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- Transmission project experience, including substation project management.
- Relevant professional qualification/accreditation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Membership in a relevant industry body and professional registration preferred (e.g., IET, ICE).

Requirements:

- Fully office based at the Motherwell office with occasional site visits.
- 8 hours a day Monday to Friday.
- Outside IR35 paid on a LTD basis at £550 a day (option to go PAYE or Umbrella).
- National Grid person training (Desirable).
