Larry is 13 years old, & has autism and ADHD. He is very active and requires support to develop his social skills. A PA will support Larry with this by building up relationships, spending time with him in the family home and then venture out into the community. This would give mum time to reset and would also help Larry gain some form of independence from mum, & for the PA to provide 1:1 support for Larry to support him to access activities he enjoys. Larry will never be fully independent due to his needs but if we can bring some quality time to Larry via a PA, then mum is going to discover quality time for herself so she can recharge and continue supporting her family.Training will be provided.Main duties:· Support Larry to build up relationships with those around him· Initially spending time in the family home to build a rapport with Larry· Supporting Larry to access the community, including trips to the parks, football & bike rides· Prompting with his personal caresHours of work:4 hours per week to be arranged with Employer – e.g. 2 hrs Weds & 2 hrs Fri, or 2 hrs Weds & 2hrs Sun, or could sometimes be 4 hours over a weekend depending on if a trip is arranged.
Essential:· Driving licence· Car and appropriate insurance· Good at building relationships· An understanding of Autism & ADHD
