Are you an ODP (operating department practitioner) graduating in 2024 and seeking a supportive environment to start your career?

As a newly qualified ODP you will be fully supported to become part of our professional community. Support will include your line manager, the practice education team as well as our wellbeing team. As a newly registered ODP, our 12-month Preceptorship Programme will support your transition from a student to a confident and professional registered theatre practitioner

You will responsible for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre. Provide high quality care to patients undergoing treatment within the Peri-Operative Environment.

Act as professional role model/team leader setting standards of practice promoting clinical effectiveness and opportunities for teaching others as part of a 24hour service.

• Adult theatres based in the Bristol Royal Infirmary (Hey Groves Theatres & Queens Theatres Day Unit) specialising in range of procedures, including – ENT and complex Maxillo Facial Surgery, Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery, Upper & Lower GI, Orthopaedic (including trauma and limb reconstruction)

• Adult theatre based in St Michaels Hospitalfocusing on Obstetrics, ENT, Upper G.I, Oral Surgery and Gynaecology along with a weekly maxillofacial service for adult patients with learning disabilities.

• Bristol Eye Hospital: specialist ophthalmic theatres at one of the country’s leading specialist hospitals with an international reputation for the treatment of diseases of the eye. Caring for all ages of patients

• Bristol Dental Hospital :a regional specialist unit providing specialist oral and dental surgery for all age groups
