Colchester United Community Foundation (CUCF) are the official charity partner of Colchester United FC. We provide high quality programmes and experiences to up to 9,000 children, young people, and adults per week across our community.

CUCF is seeking an individual (Candidates must be 18 or over) to represent Colchester United as our Club Mascot – Eddie the Eagle for the 2024/25 season. Eddie the Eagle is an important symbol of Colchester United, its fans and community, and we’re looking for a committed, passionate, enthusiastic, and professional person to join our matchday and community teams.

Job Purpose: To be available and contribute to fan engagement and community activities during Colchester United matchdays and club and community events (Open Day/Stadium Day, alongside other community, and charity events) throughout the 2024/25 season to maximise and enrich people’s experiences with the club and CUCF.

Who Will I Be Responsible For?

You will only be responsible for yourself; ensuring you attend any training required, turn up at the appointed time/venue; have the right equipment available; and act as a responsible member of the community/club team.

What are the duties of the Furry Mascot?

· Enhance the fan’s experience and represent the club brand as a positive role model.

· To be involved in all training as required.

· Arrival at the club or appropriate ground at the appointed time.

· Use appropriate designated changing area to change into and out of mascot uniform.

· When in the mascot uniform follow the instructions of the Matchday Coordinator to remain safe. (Mascot uniforms can be quite cumbersome). · Follow the instructions of club officials. · Ensure the mascot uniform is returned to the club in good condition.

· Each mascot is accountable for his / her own behaviour at all times.

· To only use the mascot uniform when representing club activities.

· If invited to away matches stay in the stadium end appropriate to your team (or follow the guidance provided by club officials).

This person must also adhere to EFL Club Mascots guidelines and code of conduct (Training will be provided)
