Crynodeb
During the period as post-holder you will be part of maxillofacial surgery on-call surgical team. Your responsibility will be to take acute referrals of patients with maxillofacial conditions and to look after the maxillofacial surgery inpatients. The hours of duty will include weekday and weekend night shifts 1900 0700 (nights) and 07.00 to 19.00 weekends (long days). A handover will be expected at the beginning and end of the shift. WORK PATTERN This is a 1 in 8 full shift rota based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. Patients will be accepted from all hospitals in the county and from Hereford. TRAINING Currently the post is not recognised for training, however, it is hoped that it will be recognised in the future. THE DEPARTMENT Maxillofacial Surgery: The range of work undertaken includes: Head and Neck oncology and microvascular reconstruction, salivary gland surgery, orthognathic surgery, skin cancer surgery, dentoalveolar surgery and maxillofacial trauma and emergencies
