DWP are looking to fill 5 roles within stakeholder management and communication areas within some of the largest programmes across Government. Details about the various programmes in our Group can be found in the Candidate Information Pack.

As Stakeholder and Communications Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth flow of information into, out of and across the group, developing and delivering different channels and communications products.

As well as having the ability to create and execute dynamic engagement strategies, you will have a strong understanding of stakeholder needs and be able to identify appropriate communications opportunities. You will work across the organisation and beyond, building relationships internally and externally to ensure effective plans are delivered with an attention to detail.

With your strong organisational skills and a focus on delivery, you will be able to influence and communicate change at a number of levels.

We have a range of challenging and exciting roles on offer, all of which are vital in supporting the successful delivery of transformation projects and programmes across DWP. Within Change and Resilience Group, you will be expected to support different programmes and embrace a career within Project Delivery. We will also be looking to form a strong reserve list as we expect to have further roles in the near future.

What are the role responsibilities?

While no two days will be the same, the responsibilities may vary from role to role but include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of communication strategies and activities that really engage our complex audiences and directly contribute to the successful rollout of our transformation programmes.
  • Managing the delivery of inspiring communications campaigns - whether it is through internal events, blogs, podcasts, or via other delivery methods, using a combination of strong strategic and communication skills and using a collaborative approach.
  • Planning, co-ordination and preparation of internal and external innovative communications products including scripts, presentations or announcers’ packs to support the delivery of transformation messages to claimants, stakeholders and staff - ensuring that all opportunities, perspectives and risks are fully understood.
  • Managing and engaging with stakeholder analysis, using and adapting appropriate tools, deciding if in-depth analysis is required for key stakeholders, and support the development of the strategy with other senior leads, setting out the most appropriate communication channel for each stakeholder group.
  • Managing key external engagement activities with a range of senior stakeholders to deliver key messages about how our plans help to transform services for customers, colleagues and taxpayers alike.
