Job description
We are looking for enthusiastic, empathic, genuine and patient people to join our team, who are interested in making a difference to two adult young men’s lives.
As a team, we support two autistic twin men in their own home, using a range of research-based approaches, such as person centred therapy, elements of applied behaviour analysis, picture exchange communication systems.
Duties
* To assist in the design and implementation of therapeutic programmes.
* To support the individual to be autonomous in self-care.
* To monitor and take accurate data daily.
* To support individuals during times of challenging behaviour.
* To model best practice and professionalism at all times.
* To support the individual in their domestic skills.
* To attend mandatory training, supervision and team meetings.
* To promote safeguarding and wellbeing for the individuals.
* Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends and provide cover.
* To work or be down for cover every other Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing
Day and New Years Eve.
* To support the individual hiking, cycling and in other similar activities.
* Other duties as required by your manager
Essential
* The minimum working hours per week are 15
* A positive attitude!
* To be flexible and take constructive feedback well, when engaging in reflective
practice.
* To be able to work overnights, weekends, Christmas period and be available for
emergency cover.
Preferred
* Hold a clean UK driving licence
* Previous experience with LD’s/Autism would be helpful but not essential.
We are a flexible team and can offer hours to suit those with academic commitments.
