We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Library Assistant to join the New City College library team based at our Epping and Redbridge campuses with occasional working at our other nearby site at Ilford. We serve a culturally and socially diverse community and offer a wide variety of courses from Entry to postgraduate levels. This role would suit candidates with experience in a library setting, either public or academic. Duties include: task-managing a team of LRC assistants; assisting students in their use of the learning resources centre including locating print and online resources and providing basic support in the use of IT; staffing the enquiry desk; assisting the librarian in management and processing of resources.Possessing a strong customer-focus, good IT skills and patience are essential, as you will be supporting students’ computer use in addition to meeting their reading and information needs. You should have good organisational and communication skills, the ability to manage your own workload with minimal supervision, and enjoy working with young people in a customer-focused environment.You need to be educated to A-level equivalent standard and be passionate about delivering a high-quality service and have the flexibility, creativity and imagination to engage every learner and encourage them to succeed.This role is a fixed term contract until July 2025.Closing date: 7th July 2024Interviews will take place week commencing 15th July 2024The closing date given is a guide only.
