Alfa Leisureplex Group have an opportunity for a UK Product Manager to join our team based at our Central Office, Euxton, Chorley.

About the job

As UK Product Manager you will be accountable for the development of the Alfa Travel tour programme within the UK and Ireland. The role will involve developing and enhancing our product offering incorporating third party partner hotels, to achieve Leisureplex standards.You will also be responsible for overseeing the excursion content and tour content across our entire UK and Irish programme, with an increased focus on special interest and ‘ticketed’ event led products, with an overall aim of growing passenger numbers and increasing occupancy in our Leisureplex estate through a varied and quality tour programme.

We have a real strong team culture in our offices, where we all help out when needed and we are looking for somebody who is happy to get involved in the detail, with a strong team ethos. Whilst the role will be predominately based in our offices in Euxton on a Monday to Friday basis, there will be a requirement for some travel.

As UK Product Manager you will be responsible for:


Itinerary and product development in collaboration with all relevant departments to ensure a smooth delivery, to grow sales and improve coach load factors
Third party hotel contracting; negotiating, agreeing rates and contracting product with excursion suppliers
Negotiation with partner hotels and ticket suppliers to agree the most favourable terms possible in regard to release dates and payment to maximise sales and coach load factor
Close liaison with the Customer Relations department to understand customer feedback and ongoing management of standards with contracted suppliers
Ensuring that all tours are costed correctly, allowing accurate pricing by the Commercial Team
Collaboration with the Commercial Team to improve profitability by making sure that tours are commercially viable whilst maximising the opportunities to add additional capacity
Reviewing the product offering continuously to respond to demand for excursion content and events whilst continually evolving the tours offered
Managing supplier related issues with partner hotels, excursion venues and ferry providers and resolving these where appropriate
Brochure production; producing itinerary copy, third party hotel copy and images and supporting the marketing team in the brochure review process, including proof reading copy
Working with DMOs to source relevant FOC image libraries and new excursion ideas for more experience led content tour
Compiling and issuing supplier sales updates on a monthly basis
Working with the Driver Product Champions to incorporate their feedback into the tour itineraries and liaising with Alfa Coaches and the traffic team whilst also taking onboard feedback from drivers in relation to product content
Attending UK and Irish tourism workshops either in person or virtually as required
Maintaining current public liability certificates and Health and Safety Questionnaires for third party hotels


Key skills and experience


Be a dynamic self starter who enjoys the challenge of multi tasking
Possess good people management skills; comfortable in leading a small team and collaborating with other departments
Be creative and imaginative
Have experience of creating and managing UK holiday product offerings
Have experience of contracting and negotiating with hotels and excursion venues and managing external relationships
Have knowledge of popular destinations, hotels, venues, tour offerings and customers expectations for coach holidays
Strong attention to detail, commercial awareness
Have a passion for the UK Travel industry
Ability to use excel proficiently
