Accounts Clerk , 25 hours a week

Salary:£24.5k to £26.5k (£12.56 - £13.58 per hour) dependent on experience pro rata based on 37.5 hours per week

Monday to Friday (some degree of flexibility for the right candidate)

Our client is a busy manufacturing company in Bridgwater and due to a retirement within the Accounts department, a position has become available as an Accounts Clerk, ideally AAT level 2 or above

Holidays: 5.6 weeks (28 days including Bank Holidays) pro rata year 1 / part time

Duties include:

  • Working in a small team to maintain efficient and accurate accounting function
  • Management of Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger
  • AP: Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, timely payments of invoices, reconcile supplier statements
  • AR: manage sales ledger queries, credit control, process credit notes, debt referral, credit reports for new customers
  • Others: ensure franking machines have adequate funds, assist with month-end, year-end and annual audits as required, various electronic portals
  • Covering colleagues during periods of absence
  • Maintain clear and concise records, filing and keeping system up to date

Essential Skills:

  • Good organisation and administrative skills with a systematic approach to work
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills - phone, email, etc
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Fluent in English language
  • Open minded and adaptable to working under pressure.
  • AAT level 2 or above.
  • Previous experience in an accounting office
  • Microsoft Office 365 - Excel intermediate

Desirable:

  • Experience working in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with e-Banking platforms and software integration (HSBC)
  • EFACS or SAP experience.
