You will be based in one of our Locality Teams in Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich or Lowestoft.
Your role and responsibilities
Within this role, you will:
- support the recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers engaged by Suffolk Youth Justice Service as Referral Order Panel Members
- work constructively with children and families, victims of crime and volunteers
- be delivering Restorative Approaches interventions, which will include working with victims of youth offending
- have access to a range of specialist services and be based within a multi-agency team
- may be required to work some weekends and evenings.
You will need
- knowledge of Restorative Approaches processes and experience of working with either adult or child victims of offending
- working knowledge of the Victims Code of Practice and experience of victim / offender mediation work as well as experience of working with volunteers (desirable)
- excellent information-gathering and analytical skills
- to be committed to your own professional development.

The team
Suffolk Youth Justice Service:
- works with children, and young people who are in, or on the edge of the Youth Justice System
- works with parents and carers and the victims of youth crime
- is a multi-agency partnership hosted by Suffolk County Council
- aim is to prevent offending by children and young people and protect the public from the harm caused by their offending. At the same time, the service works to ensure the safety and well-being of these children and young people and to enhance their life aspirations and opportunities.
