Crynodeb

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about supporting the education and training of future General Practitioners? Hinchingbrooke Hospital’s Medical Education Department is looking for a dedicated General Practice Specialty Training Administrator Assistant to join our team.

The General Practice Training Programme at Hinchingbrooke Hospital is a three-year, full-time equivalent program designed for General Practice Post Graduate Doctors in Training (GP PG DiTs) aiming to become General Practitioners. This role provides essential organisational, administrative, and financial support to ensure the smooth operation of the program.

As a GP Specialty Administration Assistant, you will work closely with our GP Training Programme Directors (TPDs) and the GP Specialty Training Programme Administrator on all aspects of the programme. Our TPDs are local General Practitioners who dedicate most of their time to their practice, spending only a minority of their time within the Medical Education Department. Because of this commitment, direct contact with the TPDs can be infrequent. Therefore, your role will involve a high degree of independent work, allowing you to manage many tasks autonomously while still being a crucial part of our collaborative team.

You will support the administration of the West Cambridgeshire GP Specialty Training Programme at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

This includes managing the GP Training programme budget in coordination with the Medical Education Team Leader, working with GP Training Programme Directors (TPDs) to develop the programme, and providing high-quality administrative support. You will help organise local education events, assist GP Post Graduate Doctors in Training with teaching sessions, produce attendance registers, provide administrative support during educational sessions, and update trainee details in the Fishbase and TIS systems.

We are dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusivity within our workforce and warmly welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, with a particular emphasis on encouraging those from disabled, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, as well as candidates from our local area.

As part of our commitment to supporting our employees we offer a range of benefits including:
• Generous annual leave entitlement starting at 27 days and increasing to 29 days after five years of service and 33 days after 10 years of service, in addition to the national Bank Holidays (pro-rata for part time staff);
• Membership of the NHS Pension Scheme:
• Flexible working opportunities;
• Enhanced hourly rates for unsociable hours e.g. night shifts, weekends, bank holidays;
• Opportunities for career development and training to help you progress in your role;
• Wellbeing support and activities to promote a healthy work environment;
• Access to our in-house physiotherapy service;
• On-site canteens offering subsidised meals;
• Subsidised staff parking (currently free);
• Free Stagecoach Bus Travel to and from work within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough

We strive to create a supportive and inclusive workplace where employees feel valued and empowered to excel in their roles. Join us and become part of a team dedicated to making a positive difference in our community.
