Royal Mail has an exciting opening for a HR Business Partner to cover the Midlands area on a 12 month fixed term contract.
You will support senior leaders in building the capability of the operation to achieve and deliver short term business performance targets and the longer-term strategy and create sustainable value through People Plans focused on transformational and cultural change.
We are open to hybrid working, however regional travel will be required to the below areas to meet business needs;
North West Midlands Mail Centre and Birmingham Mail Centre will be the primary areas covered.
About the role
You will be responsible for enabling accountability and performance, enable and support ‘line owned’ performance to allow them to deliver high performance.
Subject matter expertise - Give Ops Senior Team expert advice and guidance, utilising robust management information and high-quality reporting and planning to inform decision-making and action.
Provide informed HR consulting to stakeholders to ensure that business and people plans, and priorities are aligned.
Standards and consistency, ensure strong controls in the functional area and promote operational compliance with functionally created standards and processes to support operational effectiveness and compliance.
SLAs - Represent the function to ensure the minimum standards and services are provided as agreed, providing the link between the region and the function on any issues, changes and performance improvement required.
Build capability relevant to their functional area within the region, particularly amongst the Ops Senior Team (who in turn drive performance improvement with the front line)
Culture and performance, you will work with the Ops Senior Team to promote a culture that delivers on promises and through this supports a more trusting workplace with improved relationships at all levels.
Have a strong focus on people change management and work with the business to lead and/or support on people change and management projects (particular focus on the deployment of revisions) while proactively engaging with trade unions to mitigate risk and diffuse potential conflict particularly around the deployment of change activities as part of transformation.
About You
To be considered for the role you will have the following skills and attributes;
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with governance and deployment of cyclical people processes including performance conversations, talent, and Trust
- Coaching and mentoring experience in a previous role
- Experience in a full suite of HR service offerings, acting as a customer voice, role model and facilitator to ensure business adherence to, and delivery of the agreed service model while also managing risks, identifying areas of improvement and service deployment
- CIPD desirable
