This is an exciting new role as part of the YAS Academy management team and has been introduced to work across all Academy functions leading multiple projects to drive key business priorities and innovations.

The award-winning YAS Academy is a large team (over 100 team members) working across multiple sites in the Yorkshire Ambulance Service footprint. The postholder will work in partnership with key team members and stakeholders to enable the achievement of the Academy's purpose; to influence, provide and promote innovative, responsive, effective and efficient vocational learning in collaboration with key partners, that equips all our colleagues with the requisite knowledge and skills for today and future roles, enabling the best person-centered care.

Working in this high-performing team with high aspirations, this Project Manager will progress significant business priorities, including establishing new systems and ways of working. Working closely with Senior Academy Leaders, the remit will involve project managing key projects ensuring that timescales, project objectives, benefits and outcomes are achieved to agreed timescales.
• Contribute to quality improvement, taking a lead for identified areas where agreed.
• Provide co-ordination of and participate in relevant internal and external working groups and provide project advice, expertise and support as required.
• Provide relevant and timely updates on own projects/functions as required
• Work with members of the Academy team to investigate the causes of any variance from target/plan and proactively contribute to the implementation of solutions.
• Ensure there is an audit trail for all changes in accordance with the document management process in place
• Management of a risk and risk register and issues tracking mechanism and its proactive resolution and escalation processes.
• Adopt any delegated assurance roles within agreed reporting structure
• Prepare and maintain project plan, stage and exception plans as required.
• Manage the change control and any required configuration management
• Report, through agreed reporting lines, on project progress through highlight reports and stage assessment
• Liaise with appointed project assurance roles to assure the overall direction and integrity of the project within the programme

· To work closely with the Academy Management team to co-ordinate planning and delivery and manage key project communications.

· To work in close liaison with the Directorate Senior Leaders and Trust PMO team, SROs and others to ensure full alignment in delivery of all aspects of the Academy functions.

· To develop working relationships with colleagues within the Trust and other organisations that are productive in terms of supporting and sharing best practice.

· Be influential, visible, and credible across the workstream at programme and strategic level.

· To contribute to high-quality reports for Board, Trust Executive Group and other related Programme and Project Boards and Oversight Forums.

· Support the production of accurate and well-structured project documentation (incl. Project Brief, Project Initiation Document, Project Plans, End Stage Reports etc.), in line with Trust guidelines.

· Manage systems and processes for monitoring, reviewing and escalating concerns with projects and action to support the targeting of improvements.

· Contribute as an active member of the Senior Management Team to ensure successful collaborative working as required.
