We have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to become a vital part of our established team at HMP Addiewell, as a Stores Team Leader.

What We Are Offering:

  • Salary of £36,000 Per Annum
  • A permanent and fulltime position.
  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hour working week – weekend work may be required in the future.

Your Role as the Stores Team Leader:

As the Stores Team Leader, you will be instrumental in managing and delivering high-quality stores services within a secure environment, ensuring safety and compliance at all times.

You will oversee the daily operations of the stores department, managing resources to ensure the efficient delivery of services to 700+ prisoners and 150 staff members. You will be responsible for implementing corporate systems and designing local procedures to meet business needs, while maintaining compliance with all relevant legal and contractual requirements. Your role will involve leading and coaching staff, fostering a positive safety culture, and ensuring high standards of hygiene, safety, and security are upheld.

You will play a key part in managing budgets, achieving positive satisfaction ratings from prisoners and clients, and meeting performance targets. Your responsibilities will include providing operational guidance, supporting audits and inspections, and contributing to business continuity planning. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will identify and implement process enhancements and ensure effective communication within the team and with other departments.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with database systems (such as SAP), purchase orders and GRNI.
  • Experience managing budgets/stock control.
  • Familiar with a warehouse/stores environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions.
  • Proven track record of leading, managing and developing a team.
  • Knowledge of health and safety with the ability to adhere to standards.
  • It would be advantageous if you have worked in a custodial setting or similar.
