Touchstone is a multi-award-winning mental health and wellbeing charity operating in communities across Yorkshire. Touchstone understands that we can only deliver excellence to the people we serve if the people we recruit are happy, empowered, supported to reach their potential and trusted to lead.
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our evening Crisis Support Service known as “Here For You” in Wakefield. The service offers a non-clinical, safe space with the aim of diverting individuals aged 16+ experiencing acute distress to more appropriate forms of support, away from A&E.
The successful candidate will provide person-centred, trauma informed support both one-to-one and in a social setting. To ensure the safety of the person in crisis, the candidate may be required to liaise with local services. We wish to recruit someone with lived or substantial experience of supporting people in crisis, including working with people at risk of suicide and self-harm, particularly from diverse communities, such as BME and LGBTQ+ communities.
The post will involve regular face to face work (including bank holidays) in the evening and at night usually between the hours of 5pm-1am.
