Do you like working with people? Are you interested in working in a truly unique environment?
About us
With the opening of New Hall and a planned summer of lively activities the Museum Retail team needs additional Sales Advisors to welcome audiences and provide them with an interactive and fun experience in our shops.
We are now seeking a number of full-time (30 & 35 hours pw) Retail Sales Advisors to join the team over our busy summer period (15 July - 1 September).
About the role
In this role, you will help maximise sales and profit through actively approaching and assisting customers in finding and purchasing merchandise. You will take responsibility for specific areas of the store's operation, keeping visual merchandising and housekeeping at the highest standard.
In this role you will work at least one weekend day every weekend. The shifts are between the hours of 8am - 5.15pm (i.e. 8am-4pm / 9am-5.15pm).
If you're interested in working in a truly unique environment, gaining experience in top-class customer service, and enjoy working with people, we want to hear from you!
We find that colleagues get the most from their time at the Museum when they are the most engaged versions of themselves. And we pride ourselves to be a vibrant work environment welcoming and attracting a diverse range of people.
Download the Vacancy Information Pack file under 'Attachments' on this vacancy listing on the Science Museum Group website for more details about the role and the application process.
About you

You will enjoy making our visitors feel welcome and comfortable; whilst being able to actively approach and engage with visitors to understand their needs.
You will be comfortable working during busy periods, remaining customer-focused, being adaptable and taking initiative.
Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match perfectly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
